NOURISHMENT & EXERCISE
“The first wealth is health.”
—RALPH WALDO EMERSON
It is essential to take care of our bodies in order to live our most vibrant lives. What we eat and do with our bodies plays a huge part in our inner glow.
What we put into our bodies, we emit physically, and the energy we put out, such as exercise, can help us maintain and restore our glow.
As we age, it becomes more apparent that how we take care of ourselves shows. Eating well and exercising are essential to not only taking care of our bodies but also our minds and spirits.
The foods we eat carry energy. Most of what we eat is or once was living, and because of this, food carries its own vibrational frequency. When we eat things that are at a higher vibrational frequency, we raise our vibration. For instance, greens are amazing at keeping us healthy because they are living when they are cut and so move easily through our digestive system. Think about how you feel when you eat processed foods—although they taste good, they don’t necessarily move through our systems as efficiently.
Even meat that is raised well and sustainably carries with it a higher vibration than meat that is overly produced, full of antibiotics and hormones, because of the conditions in which they were raised. If we do our best to choose food that is well taken care of, locally produced, and free of processing, we will feed our bodies with the best available options.
If these types of foods aren’t always available, try to choose the best possible item to eat instead. When you go to a grocery store, shop on the perimeters where all the fresh foods are—the center aisles tend to be where we find the processed foods. Farmers’ markets are also a wonderful place to get fresh foods, and you can speak to local farmers about how to incorporate their fruits and veggies into your recipes and diets.
Road trips are usually the hardest for me when it comes to feeding my body the best possible option. I used to drive six hours a day for my job in an area that was mainly agricultural, however, my eating options were restricted to fast-food chains. I had to consciously find places where I could eat foods that would keep my energy high, alert, and keep me feeling well. Restaurants have introduced healthier options to their menus since more people are becoming aware of how important nutrition is and want to have such options available.
At home, meal prep can be an effective way to ensure you are eating well because it helps you prepare nutritious meals ahead of time, so you have a delicious meal ready for when you are hungry. It also helps you create more mindful eating habits and steer you away from eating non-nutritious food items that may be easily accessible. Incorporating smoothies is another quick and easy way to add more greens into your diet. There are several diets you can
